I was tackling a large novel and then given an early copy of Jesus Loves You This I Know by Craig Gross and Jason Harper. My Steinbeck read came to a dull yellow, and I was glued by the encouraging stories.
The tittle didn’t speak of cliche words. Stories like becoming a publicly loathed money collector for a cable company when you’re a comfortable pastor in a comfortable church life, spoke closer accuracy to living “Christ-like”. It’s a well received testament to the truth that talking like a “do-gooder” and living the faith are apples and oranges.
My compliments to Craig and Jason for their perspectives. I’m into it. And if you’re smellin’ what I’m steppin’ in, you should take a read yourself. Christian or not..

Yesterday I woke up and realized my glasses are all scratched. No how, no why. That’s one voice telling me I’ve been on Warped too long and need to return home. I’m not worried about it though. Mainly ’cause I’m in Canada right now. And that’s just the attitude you’re enabled to have up here.
I just saw Kelly Clarkson last night for the first time. The girl does not give a RIP! She has the best voice I think I’ve ever heard, but about half way through the set she leans down after clearing her throat to grab… a bright red Coca-Cola can. Last time I checked drinking soda is about the next worst thing a singer can do to her voice aside from smoking. But whatever, she killed it! And all the screaming women around killed my ears.
The next cities up for us are Calgary and Vancouver. I have yet to experience either of these places, looking forward to it. I hear Vancouver is the best place in Canada. Plus I just love west coast cities.
All -in-all we’ve had some great moments on Warped even including some geek drum time, trading beats. Can’t wait to get home to tune up and play my own kit!

I’m here in Baltimore today after seeing the National Aquarium on a day off from Warped. I haven’t been the best at blogging on this tour because I’ve been in the hot heat of the day tuning drums. But the tour is going great. I’ve enjoyed every moment of my job including ducking down under the snare drum to fix an unlatched double-kick pedals while mid-song. But I try to keep it right so Aaron can get back to his spontaneous blast beats.
Other than Underoath being a great band to check out, a band that is a favorite on the tour is Thrice. They are just a great band. Talented. Good songs. But they’re not coming back until the end of the tour which is sad. While I wait for that to happen however, Flogging Molly has stepped in and brought some good color to the main stage.
I know this is a while back but I’ve got this picture from San Fransisco, one of the first few shows of the tour. The best weather so far.. Taken from my iPhone and polarized.

Headed for Tampa this morning. Stoked on something a little different in my bag of tricks. I’ll be tuning up some drums and gettin’ them spit-shine for Mr. Aaron Gillespie of Underoath. Like a fresh new pair of shoes every day.
The band is traveling the states on Warped Tour all the way though August. That’s “War-P-T” not “Warp”(sorry. family guy humor, insert voice of stewie).
Wish me luck. I plan on coming back with some good stories and some bad tan lines.
